So you think you're a fast waterslider? Well then, we've got the event for you!
Come and contest your watersliding skills for a chance to win a cool $1000 cash prize in Adventure Park’s fifth annual Aqua Racer Championships on Australia Day Friday 26 January 2018.
The championships see competitors racing down our six-lane Aqua Racer waterslide at speeds of up to 40km an hour in a bid to win great prizes and take the title of Adventure Park’s Aqua Racer champion for 2018.
Hoping for a third back to back win, 2017 champion Tim Dahl, 33, will be looking to improve on his winning time of 5.93 seconds in 2017.
Tim said his secret was getting a few slides in at Adventure Park ahead of the event day.
“We’ve brought the kids down a couple of times already this season and the Aqua Racer never gets old” he said. “On the day of the race, it’s all about having fun with some friendly competition and just enjoying yourself in the water.“
Adventure Park managing director Leanne Salmon said the event was a great way to spend the public holiday in the height of summer.
“We have people coming back each year to try to win this event. It’s a bit of an Australia Day fixture in the region,” Ms Salmon said.
Children also have the opportunity to challenge for waterslide bragging rights in the Junior Aqua Racer Championship, with Toys R Us vouchers to be won for first, second and third places.
To be eligible to compete in the Junior race, children will need to be between 110cm and 140cm in height.
Qualifying races begin at 12pm sharp with finals at 2.15pm (Junior Race) and 2.30pm Adult Race.
To register for the Aqua Racer Championship, be at Adventure Park Geelong from 10am Friday 26 January 2018.
The race is on!
